I have a berlingo 1.6 engine code 9HN (DV6ETED). 2016. The engine has just been fully reconditioned, since then I am getting DPF warning lights and fault codes. P1490- particle filter detected to be overloaded. When I then get the DPF professionally cleaned and refit the DPF the car will run well for 2 days and the same fault code will come back.

After doing quite a bit of work to try and resolve the issue, my 56 plate Berlingo Multispace with the 1.6 HDi engine is still running lumpy, burning oil and generally stinking up the place. The engine starts slightly hard in the cold (not a problem at the moment), initially runs very lumpy and produces quite a bit of blue smoke.
After a bit more searching found that; The turbo in the 1.6HDi is a version of the Mitsubishi TD025S2-06T4 - this model also used on Ford, Volvo, Mini and various others using PSA 1.6HDi variants. Some TD025S2's are regulated via boost pressure feedback (like the DW10), others via vacuum.
Gearbox not engaging reverse properly. The first-generation models had turbo failure on the diesel engines but that issue has been corrected on the later models. The most common issue reported by owners is water getting into the fuse box. Fortunately, this is an inexpensive repair. I'm back on the forum after a long break with another m59, an 07 1.6 hdi this time. It's a wee trooper, but since I've had it, always (almost) lumpy as heck when first started, even in mild weather. I was going to do the glow plugs, but saw a few posts where this did not fix the issue even though first instinct is to blame the plugs.

Both the 90 and 110 are rock solid engines, powerful and economical, but the oil MUST be changed on or before 12,500 miles (20,000km) to ensure turbo longevity. Review.
