Then again the engine did cut through a wire attached to a sensor on the gearbox. OP.

I have a 1.6 Stilo which in my opinion is not producing it's best performance, with the accelerator to the floor in 5th gear and on an even road surface, I get no more than 3000rpm, I suspect something is up.
